Sneak Peek!

Hope everyone is having a great week so far!

I've been having a good recovery so far...and our little addition is growing fast!  In my spare time (hahahaha!!! I know.  Funny, right?) I've been working on some projects that I hope to be able to finish before my 10-year-old is in college.

The first project on my list to get done is a crocheted blanket for our new baby!!  I've made a special "blessing blanket" for each of our children, that we've wrapped them in when they had their blessings** in church.  It's a tradition that I've really enjoyed  (I learned to crochet so that I could make a special blanket for my first baby!), and I hope that my children will cherish them and use them for their own children someday!

I thought I'd share a couple of sneak peek pictures with you of the blanket in progress!

I'm almost done now...I just need to get all of the squares put together and finish off the edging!!  I'll be posting pics of the finished blanket next week!!

** I am a member of the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  In the LDS church we have a special blessing that is given to new babies to officially name them and to give them special individual blessings.  This is done in conformity to revelation recorded in the Book of Doctrine and Covenants:

“Every member of the church of Christ having children is to bring them unto the elders before the church, who are to lay their hands upon them in the name of Jesus Christ, and bless them in his name” (D&C 20:70).

We do not believe in baptizing babies - Baptism is reserved for those who are eight years old or older - as we believe that little children and babies who die before baptism are in no need of 'saving ordinances,'  as they are already perfect.  If you'd like more information about this please visit HERE.

4 Weeks Left!

My kids have been asking why I haven't posted the pictures hubby took of me on Mother's Day yet....

I'll be honest.  There's a reason I haven't posted pictures of myself for the last little while.

I'm huge.

And even though I'm not really super self-concious about my pregnant size, actually seeing it in photos is another thing.  It just kinda confirms what I'm already feeling.

But...I'm so happy to be able to be having this baby.  And even though there are all sorts of crazy things that happen to you and your body during pregnancy...I'll take them.  The end result is sooooo worth it.

And sometimes it's really nice to know that even though I feel huge and I waddle everywhere I go, my other children (and my hubby) still think I'm beautiful, and they love me...even though I can't reach my toes right now.

So.

Here are the pictures of me on Mother's Day.  I'm wearing the cute necklace and earrings the kids' gave me (they match these awesome yellow sandal heels I have...but can't wear right now, because my feet are so swollen...oh, well later in the summer, right??), and I even did my hair 'pretty' that day!

I didn't get an actual 'profile-shot' I guess.  But you get the idea!

Thanks again to my wonderful family for a great Mother's Day...and for making Mother's Day so much more meaningful to me!

Only four more weeks to go until baby #5 joins us!!!

I just took a picture this morning of the 'side-view'...yeah, this is what I usually look like!  (Isn't it great to have a chance to dress up every once-in-a-while?)

Happy Mother's Day!

Just a little note for all you lovely ladies out there!  Wishing you all a wonderful Mother's Day!

I'm so blessed to be a mother.  There is nothing that can ever truly express the blessings and joy that motherhood brings.

Fresh from the garden...and presented in an empty jam jar...the best kind of Mother's Day Bouquet.

Great Idea: Nesting.

This week I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by all that I HAVE to get done before I have this baby in 5 weeks.

Yikes.

There's so much to do.

I am in full-nesting mode.

All those little things that I let slide so often, now seem to be a BIG HUGE FAT DEAL!  (Like the pile of kids' stuff on my desk, and the fact that my husband uses the top of his dresser as a filing cabinet, and the overflowing recycling bin, and the STILL unorganized craft room, seen here...)

I think I've developed a twitch.

So...

Today I'm just sharing a link to a fantastic post, all about nesting....

How to Edit a Room by The Nesting Place

After reading this I thought: "I need to just embrace my urge to get rid of the excess.  I need to feel at peace in my home...instead of irritated with all the stuff."

So that's what I'm doing today.  I've already reorganized the bathroom, the laundry room, the kitchen cupboards, the kids' art stuff, and the living room.  I have been de-junking, de-cluttering, cleaning, discarding, re-doing, and list-making almost non-stop this week.

My husband thinks I've gone completely nuts.

I feel so much better already!  I can't wait to finish the rest of the house!

Really, go check the article out.  Even you are not a crazy, nesting pregnant woman.

A little Ramble...

So...

What's new this week?

Me?

I didn't get to my Things to Make post yesterday.  I felt so guilty.

Especially since when I woke up this morning I found that I have 295 followers now!!!

Holy Cow!  You guys ROCK!!!

But, I suddenly felt like if I wasn't posting my regularly scheduled tutorial/pattern/idea/whatever I'd be letting all of you wonderful people down!

Then I sat back and really thought about this whole blogging thing.  I LOVE being able to share what I like doing with so many wonderful people...and the fact that I've been able to be so consistent with it for the past few months!

But this past week has been CRAZY!!!  And I had to remind myself that first and foremost I'm a Mom.  I'm also a wife, cook, housekeeper, nurse, business owner, and an incubator for baby #5.  And all those things take up a lot of time and energy.

I needed to help with school projects, and injuries, and meals, and laundry, and life.  And sometimes that just the way it is.  And I wouldn't want my life to be any different!  I love being a mom and wife...and all that comes with the territory!!!  There's true satisfaction and joy in being able to be who I am!!!  I feel truly blessed to be able to do what I love everyday!!

So, I hope you'll all forgive me for slacking off this week on my tutorial...and hope you'll hang with me as I adjust my schedule to fit my growing family's needs.

And I promise that I've been busy creating things, too!  (I just haven't had extra time to take pictures and write up instructions!!)  And I'll be sharing stuff with all of you lovely people soon!

Thanks for allowing me to be all the things I am here!  I SO love the interactions I get to have all of you amazing people everyday!

I'd love to hear what's new with you this week!
